What exactly is plasma treatment?
Plasma skin treatments are the newest and latest alternative to remove wrinkles, age lines, excess skin, certain blemishes, moles and many other skin conditions. Unlike traditional surgical facelifts, plasma skin treatments burn small, concentrated dots using a microneedle on the treatment area, causing your skin to shrink and regenerate itself and induce collagen in the process. The effect causes the skin to tighten naturally as it heals.
Plasma treatment uses the fourth state of matter – plasma. Tissues are treated “sublimate” and we avoid spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding areas by using a microneedle. The principle is to ionize gas in the air to create a small electrical arch, similar to a tiny lightning bolt, with which the dermal and epidermal areas are affected by aesthetic problems, may be treated without spreading unwanted heat to the surrounding areas.
Even though skin layers receive a controlled "burn" by the plasma pen, there are no open wounds during the healing phase compared to other methods. This is extremely important as this approach reduces the risk of scarring, infection, loss of pigmentation, and in many cases, keloid scars in some clients.
After 5-7 days, scabs will form from the treatment area and it is highly recommended to keep the area clean and moist with certain skin moisturizers and lotions. Once the scabs come off, the area will look darker than your natural skintone for an additional 2-3 weeks before finally healing and returning to its natural color and pigment.
Plasma skin treatments take 1 to 2 sessions and will mostly depend on how much excess skin or wrinkles need to be removed. Each treatment is individually customized and tailored specifically to your skin and age conditions.
How exactly does it work?
There's no better way of explaining it than to really show you. In the video below, the image is slowed down and zoomed in to show you the effects of the plasma arc. Each dot is roughly the size of the human skin pore. As the plasma arc is created on the tip of the needle, it creates a tiny, controlled burn, causing the areas around the skin to pull into itself.
Plasma skin tightening is one of the most innovative procedures to come out in the last decade. With its low-to-no risk, great advantages and instant results, it's easy to see why plasma is the better alternative to traditional cosmetic surgery.
